Member Batch of 50 Oysters

We take great care with your oysters to ensure the highest quality and ensure that they are are harvested and kept at a regulated temperature until delivered. We harvest at low tide cycles as close as possible to your planned use date. By regulation, oysters should be kept refrigerated and best practice is to use within 14 days of harvest.

 

If for some reason, you need to return your oysters and can do so within the 14-days of harvest date, we will credit you membership account.

Your oysters are currently available for pickup and/or local delivery only. Please indicate at checkout if you would like to pickup or have them delivered.

 

Outside Area Shipping: As a local oyster club based in Virginia Beach, LOC does not routinely ship oysters outside of our local area. Contact us if you need to ship oysters.

Oysters on the half shell are raw and slightly steamed and/or roasted oysters are considered undercooked. Consuming raw or undercooked oysters may increase your risk of food borne illness.

Older or immune compromized persons should be especially careful and are advised to seek professional council if raw or undercooked oysters can be consumed.

As we harvest and box/pack oysters, we carefully pack them cup side down to preserve the oyster liqure during storage and transport until consumed. Bagged Oysters are best kept iced in a cooler until consumed.

 

Shell Return/Recycling: LOC will take your used shell for its shell recycling efforts to build native oyster habitat on the farm. Returning shell quickly not only keeps odors to a minimum, but any live shell in your batch will have a better chance of remaining viable.
